An economic-geological survey - Kysuca
In April 2013 the CEMEX Group entered the Slovak market and through CEMEX Aggregates Slovakia s.r.o. it began to operate three quarries located in Beluša, Jablonové a Lopušné-Pažite. In connection with the acquisition of the deposits and with planning the further activities of the quarries the need for a re-evaluation of the resource base and of the related work in the area of the mining design arose. On the basis of a tender offer, G E T Ltd. was selected by the investor to be the contractor for the requisite geological work.
In June 2015 the G E T Ltd. Company’s geologists carried-out both a field reconnaissance and also a special-purpose geological mapping of the quarries and of their forelands, covering all the relevant localities. Subsequently the drilling works were designed and implemented. The drill core samples were technically evaluated in regard to the usability of this raw material for the production of aggregates in accordance with the Slovak technical standards. A 3D computer model was created for all three of the deposits. Integrated in the 3D model were both the geological data and also the outputs of the concurrently processed mining study, including the shape of the final slopes of the exploited deposit. This made it possible to calculate not only the volume of the geological reserves but also the actual volume of the mineable reserves with a high degree of accuracy. A final report was prepared in regard to each of the deposits, including the calculations of the reserves and fulfilling all the necessary requirements pursuant to the applicable legislation of the Slovak Republic. All of these final reports, subsequent to their approval by the Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic in January 2016, have become binding documents in regard to the recording of the mineral reserves. For the investor they also serve as the default documentation for enabling the optimal use of these deposits.
