PEGMAT project launched
In 2022, work began on the international project "Developed Magmatic and Pegmatite Systems as a Source of Critical Raw Materials and Industrial Minerals" (PEGMAT), of which G E T is an industrial partner. The project focuses on granites and pegmatites, which are common sources of industrial minerals and typically contain other useful components including critical raw materials (CRM; e.g. Li, Ta, Nb, Sn, W, Be, Cs and REE). The expected results and benefits of the project are increased knowledge of CRM deposits, new insights into deposit processes, new regional data available for research and industry, transfer of knowledge and experience, and enhanced international cooperation. The project team consists of 7 organizations and companies from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria and France. The ERA-MIN pan-European network project is supported by the EU Horizon 2020 program. On the Czech side, it is co-financed by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic.
