Mali - completion of the fieldwork and the processing of mining studies of the Kalakofara gold deposit
As part of the verification of the original calculation of the reserves of the deposit of alluvial gold in Kalakofara that was implemented in the 1970’s, new exploratory shafts and core drilling profiles were carried out and then evaluated. The results confirmed the initial data, whereby the new calculation of the reserves indicates cca. 180 kg of free gold, bound to both the alluvial and the eluvial deposits. Our experts prepared mining studies in regard to this deposit and also a partial environmental impact assessment study (i.e. an acoustic study and a dispersion study).
On Tuesday the 22nd of February 2016, the Faculty of Science at Albertov, as part of the Institute of geochemistry, mineralogy and mineral resources’ geochemical seminar, hosted a presentation by our external collaborator, Dr. Filip Podolský, concerning the results of the fieldwork. His lecture entitled “The alluvial gold in Sub-Saharan Africa” was also attended by the Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Mali, Mr. Tiecoura Kané.
