Excursion to Chvaletice manganese ore deposits
The G E T s.r.o. Company participated in the organisation of an excursion prepared by Euro Manganese Inc. on the occasion of the 31st International Ferro-alloys Conference that took place in Prague. The purpose of the excursion that was held on the 11th November 2015 was to visit the "Chvaletice 1.2" and the "Trnávka 3" manganese ore deposits. These deposits together contain about 2 million tons of metal that is bound predominantly to manganese carbonate that is held in 20th Century mine tailings. A short stop was also devoted to visiting the exhibition entitled "Elementary School in Hornicka Ctvrt - Past and Present" that is focused on the mineralogy and the mining in the region and also on the history and the future of this functionalist school building. The cultural highlight was the afternoon visit to the gothic St. Barbara’s Cathedral in Kutna Hora.
